Tbilisi City Hall restricts traffic at Freedom Square

The Georgian national football team returned to Georgia this morning, landing at Tbilisi International Airport at 9:15. They were greeted by thousands of fans.

Tbilisi City Hall will restrict traffic at Freedom Square on July 2 for the event celebrating the national football team’s arrival. The restriction will be in place from 5 p.m. to midnight. Festivities begin at 10 p.m., with the team starting a march from Mikheil Meskhi Stadium to Freedom Square in an open-top bus at 9:30 p.m. Attendees will gather in Freedom Square at 10 p.m. to greet the players and sing the national anthem. Adjacent streets will be available for drivers and routes of public buses will also be modified temporarily.
